Andrew Creese

Owner

Andrew has been teaching in minor hockey for the past 25 years. He has worked with players from initiation all the way through their minor hockey careers. While his teams have repeatedly enjoyed on-ice success, Andrew’s measuring stick has always been a little different. His goal has always been to create a learning environment that is able to reach all players and ensure that he is able to connect with each and every one of his charges. Andrew’s philosophy of making sure something is done well before it is done fast has been paramount to the success of his players.

For Andrew, more time goes into the preparation and planning for a session than into the session itself. Each hour is carefully constructed to meet the needs of the team and the needs of the individual players to ensure that development happens at every turn. Feedback is constant, both in practice and in game situations. Practices are not just interesting drills out of a drill book that are age appropriate, Andrew identifies specific gaps in play or skills and creates elaborate drills around those gaps, building and improving in a progression throughout the year.

Andrew spent many years building a successful business as an Investment Advisor. Eventually, he had to choose between hockey and the investment business. The choice was obvious; Andrew sold his investment business to continue his passion for working with young athletes and realize the dream of creating a training centre focused on all aspects of developing players and coaches.

Andrew leads the hockey programming at AMPED Sports Lab and Ice Complex, and brings with him his experience of building and growing his former business in the investment world. Andrew also brings a proven track record of successfully developing minor hockey players, and as a hockey parent, he understands the dynamics of young hockey players away from the rink. Andrew is working to build the AMPED hockey program by recruiting instructors and mentors that have skills and experience to compliment his own background. Together they will be a team with broad experience focused on a common goal. Andrew will instruct and oversee all aspects of the on ice programs to ensure that the AMPED philosophy and programs are delivered consistently with the entire team of on ice personnel.

Jordan Burgess

Owner, Registered Physiotherapist, BA(Hons)PT, BScPT, FCAMPT, CSCS, Gunn IMS, SFMA

As a physiotherapist, Jordan has spent many years building his areas of clinical expertise in manual therapy, IMS and exercise science, and has worked in practice settings from high-profile sports injury clinics with elite level clientele to rehabilitating the complex and serious injuries found in a provincial trauma centre.

This combination of specialization is rare - expertise in manual therapy and performance exercise provides Jordan the ability to guide athletes from the initial stages of injury recovery right through to returning to perform at a high level in their sport.   His knowledge base allows him the insight to design and introduce high level performance exercise into their programs at the appropriate time.

After building Momentum Physiotherapy into a clinic known for its skilled practitioners and individual approach to client treatment, Jordan wanted to expand the options available to his clients for treatments that couldn’t be offered in the space available in Riverside South.

Along with Andrew, the vision for Amped came together, with a single entity that could use the best principles of teaching, coaching, scientific research, exercise and treatment of pain and movement problems, and bring them all under one roof for the benefit of all the athletes that come to our facility.

Outside of treating athletes in Amped Physiotherapy powered by Momentum, Jordan also oversees the Amped Human Performance program in the gym and the sport vision training programs in Amped CORE Training as the Director of Sports Lab operations.

You can find him delivering programs in any of these areas of Amped, or on the ice running a Rehabilitation Ice session for injured hockey players wanting to return to the game truly ready to go.
