The skating treadmill at Amped Sports Lab is not your stereotypical, commercial “training device”. Our programs are designed based on sport science and not the amount of sweat on the floor.
We believe the treadmill should be used for two purposes: mechanical training and energy system development (either maintenance or improvement). The intent is not to perform one in conjunction with improving the other.
There are three phases of training: acclimation (the foundation of treadmill skating and optimal posture), mechanical efficiency (motor training/strengthening), and energy systems (acceleration, top end speed and steady state performance).
